Who's in the mood for a baby shower? I had so much fun putting together this owl inspired shower for a baby girl coming into the world, hopefully on time, this week! We had a full brunch spread for the guests along with a mimosa station and yogurt bar. We played two games (which I unfortunately forgot to photograph): Baby bingo and a "Price is right" Game.
We ended up doing our Price is Right game a little different than other baby shower games you see. I made a full owl themed power point and found more expensive products, like car seats, for people to guess on and whoever's total was closest won. This was more fun (and frugal) than buying a single jar of baby food, a bottle, etc to display for people to guess and made it more fun for the guests to guess. Plus I got to browse through tons of cute baby things, no complaints here!
Our Breakfast spread included The Yogurt Bar, Biscuits, Pancake-Bacon Dippers, Mini Cereals, Bagels and Assorted Cream Cheeses, and a variety of breakfast breads and muffins. Surprisingly enough, the yogurt bar stole the show as the favorite item of the morning! Everyone loved the yogurt toppings and their cute apothecary jar housing (I bought two sets that I use all the time now: these tall ones and these shorter ones). By the end of the shower there was only a lone cup of yogurt left and I had enough for each person to have one of everything. I sent the extras of the brunch home with the guests, I now am determined to invest in some take out boxes or something to package food for after parties, I always over cook and can never eat it all in time so its a great way to give everyone a parting snack and lower the amount of spoiled food!
For the mother to be we set up our big squishy chair adorned with lanterns and a side table for gifts so that she could comfortably sit and not have to keep getting up for presents (luckily a little girl had loads of fun bringing her presents so this wouldn't have been an issue anyway. :) ). I ended up taking all of our dining room chairs and arranging them around the "Chair of Honor" so everyone would have a seat and turned our dining table into the breakfast bar! I got both the adorable owl vinyl tree decoration and the pink polka dot letters off Amazon, and they both ended up being very affordable. :)
Nothing like a good Brunch to celebrate new life! What are your favorite baby shower themes? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
