Everyone has a favorite baby shower gift to give. While others love to shower babies in cute clothes, I love presents that have to do with feeding: bottles, pillows, and anything in between! So when I was making game cards and signs for my bestie’s Blue Gingham BaByQ Shower, I knew I had to try my hand at making a new baby gift box, full of feeding essentials that any new mom would love!
The centerpiece of this gift box is an adorable stainless steel baby bottle, which is great in itself but was bought for this pack for good reason, because my crafty friend wants it for creating a custom epoxy coated bottle for her little boy! Unlike my Bottles & Bibs Feeding Bento, I wanted this box to be themed me towards breastfeeding essentials, so using my besties registry as a guide, I found a wonderful set of nursing pads, breast milk bags, and cooling gel pads, perfect for keeping mama as comfortable as possible while accenting my bottle with less thought of breastfeeding essentials!

While I created an assortment of different Baby Bento Gift Boxes for my sister when she was was having her baby a couple years ago, I haven’t had time to revisit the idea since, so this was the perfect time to add to my collection while giving my friend all my favorite essentials for feeding her baby. I can’t wait for the next little bundle of joy to come along in my friends so more baby bentos can happen then!

SUPPLIES

BABY BENTO SUPPLIES:

Stainless Steel Baby Bottle: this bottle is the centerpiece of this feeding bento

Nursing Pads: while the bottle was for the new baby, the rest of my gifts were all about making the transition easier for my friend, starting with these cute reusable nursing pads! This set came with seven pairs of pads, complete with a little lingerie bag to wash them in, all in a rainbow of pastels which were fun for fanning under my bottle.

Breastmilk Bags: to store all the milk and get her pumping essentials started, I included a set of breastmilk bags, but opted to keep them completely packaged in their original box for easier storage, but the cute saying was perfect for displaying up as the box was open, because this box is all about “happy feeding!”

Gel Cooling Pads: to keep mama as comfortable as possible, these soothing chillable gel pads were the perfect finishing piece to tuck in next to the breast milk bags. Like the bags, I chose to keep it in its original packaging, which made for easy packing and display.

GIFT BOX SUPPLIES:

Gift Box: for housing and displaying all your gifts! I found my gift box out shopping with this adorable night time pattern on it, but the important thing is that it is big enough for all your presents: 10” x 10” x 5 1/8”  to fit like mine did!

Crinkle Paper: to stuff in any open spaces of your bento when you are done packing in your presents!

DIRECTIONS

1. Start by placing any flat cards, instructions, and flat paper items that go with your products in the bottom of your gift box. Place your gel pads, skinny side up, into the lower left hand corner of your box. Next, place your breast milk bags into the lower right hand corner of your box, top side facing up.

2. Next, take the lingerie bag that is included with the nursing pads and fold it into a rectangular packet that is the same length as the side of your milk bag box, then tuck it between the gel pads and the breast milk bags, sliding the bags over to the left to snuggly fix it between the two boxes. Fill in the lower right side of your gift box with crinkle paper to secure your items along the bottom, then you are ready to fill the top.

Now, it's time to arrange the nursing pads and bottle, and for this box I used the packaging that I saved from the bottle to create a lifted base for arranging my pads; but if you did not save it you can always fill in those spots with more crinkle paper instead!

3. Start by placing the main packaging of the bottle, sideways in the upper left hand side of the box, then take the smaller cardboard piece that secured the bottle and place it in the upper right, forming a cardboard cradle to house your nursing pads and bottle. Place four of your nursing pads in the empty space of the bottle packaging, then fan the rest of them around the cardboard, overlapping them as shown, to create a nest to hold your bottle. Press the pads into the box until the tops of their petals are right along the top of the gift box.

4. Finally, place your bottle in the nest of nursing pads to display it, then cover it with its lid and your box is complete and ready to be given to your mama-to-be! I tied mine with gold and white cotton thread to keep it closed, which gave it a little shine and perfectly complemented my cute gift box!

Like my Bibs and Bottles Bento Gift Box, I love giving baby feeding gifts in a fun way, and especially love this box because it is both beautiful but a fun way to give less commonly thought of feeding themed gifts!
