Simple Wooden Flower Wine Bottle Centerpieces
Wooden flowers are back everyone! Or rather I’ve finally had time to enjoy playing with them and redesigning my bookcase centerpiece in a smaller, more whimsical fashion from my Zodiac Summer’s Eve Party.
This was the perfect project to start off the creative side of my year as well as a perfect way to show off one of my favorite new crafting supplies for my centerpieces and other floral details, wooden flowers!
SOLA Wood Flowers creates wooden flowers as a unique alternative to use for wedding bouquets, centerpieces, and other floral projects; and these blooms are both affordable and easily color customizable, with dozens of different colors available to order pre dyed or to dye yourself! I ended up using a combination of the Ombre Dyed Wooden Flowers I originally created from my first project with these blooms, and paired them with the single dip dyed creams, pinks, and blushes from the leftover dyes from my project. This led the perfect combination of colors to show off my favorite ombre blooms while giving a lot more dimension to the centerpiece than my first round using only my ombre buds.
For this centerpiece you’ll notice that I’m not trying to hide the wire stems, I love them for a little bit of an Industrial vibe. I wanted to show the flowers off for their pretty colors and rustic wooden character rather than try to pass them off as actual florals, but that doesn’t mean that filler flowers and greenery wouldn’t go well in this centerpiece too! Sola Wood Flowers have a variety of both faux and dried filler options so that you can easily hide the stems if you wish and give yourself a little more lush of a look.
Wine Bottle Centerpieces are a lovely option both as wedding reception centerpieces and party tablescape decorations, but I also love arranging these around bar areas too! If you are thinking of these as wedding centerpieces, they are super affordable, easy for you and your maids to make together, and so easy to customize to exactly the colors you want, the limit is your imagination! And as I know I’ll be repurposing these in future projects, after the big day they can easily become part of your regular house and party centerpieces!
This pretty wooden piece will be gracing my office for the next few months until these beauties are incorporated into more of my Wooden Flower and other Floral Projects, and I’m so happy to have a pretty way to display them!
SUPPLIES
CENTERPIECE SUPPLIES:
Empty Wine Bottles: The base of this centerpiece is one of my favorite affordable vase options that most people can find a way to procure, wine bottles! Whether you get donations from your friends or just save your own, these bottles make for a beautiful base to display your flowers. Try to have at least three different heights of bottles for your centerpiece, personally I prefer using Chardonnay and other curvy bottles so that all the bottles have a similar shape profile. As you may also notice, I prefer using green bottles so that the stems are not perfectly visible through the glass.
WOODEN FLOWER SUPPLIES:
Dyed Wooden Flowers: A variety of colorful wooden flowers is the showcase of this centerpiece! You can choose to dye the flowers yourself, or to purchase them predyed from Sola Wood Flowers. I used both Ombre Dyed Flowers as well as some single dipped flowers in a variety of blushy pinks and creams for my centerpiece. I used the Dear Holly style blooms in my design, but any of the smaller 1.5” dyed flowers would give a similar look!
18 Gauge Floral Wire: To become the stems of the flowers for your centerpiece!
OTHER SUPPLIES:
Glue Gun & Glue Sticks: to glue your flowers to their stems.
Wire Cutters: to cut your flower stems to different heights for arranging.

DIRECTIONS
Start by gluing the wire stems to your flowers by using the stem to create a hole in the base of the flower. Remove the stem and top the hole with a bead of hot glue, then press the stem back into the base of the flower and wait until it is cool. Once the glue on the flowers and stems are dry, use wire cutters to cut the stems into a variety of lengths, ranging from the height of your shortest bottle to an inch or two above your tallest bottle.
2. Arrange your bottles in the shape you want your centerpiece to be. I chose to do a seven bottle arrangement for using as a oblong oval shaped centerpiece, but you can arrange the bottles based on how it will best fit your table.
Using your fingers, put a slight bend into the metal wires of your flowers, then place them into your bottles to start designing your centerpiece.
3. Starting with you shortest flowers and working up to your tallest, continue to bend and add flowers to the bottles, giving each bottle between 3 to 5 flowers, until your centerpiece reaches the fullness you want, as shown below. Once you’ve placed all your flowers, bend the stems as needed to fill in any patchy areas and your centerpiece is complete!
And just like that you have a bright, cheerful, and affordable centerpiece to grace your dining table, bookcase, or in my case, my office until they become bar décor at my next party!
This project is a super easy way to start playing with wooden flowers in your home or party décor, as well as leave you with a bunch of stemmed flowers to use in other Floral Projects when they are done as their life as a centerpiece. I’ll certainly be using these beauties again, so be on the lookout for more easy wooden flower centerpieces in the future!
