DIY Essential Oils Fizzy Floral Bath Salt Favors
Like my bath bombs, these salts are made with a lot of the same ingredients, like citric acid and essential oils, but with the added fun of some delightful dried flowers that are made for spa projects just like this! I used a mix of dried peony, sweet violet and rose petals to perfectly complement my pretty pink dyed bath salt mix, scented with my birthday girl's favorite flowers, jasmine blossoms! The combination of the jasmine essential oils with these petals gave a perfect blend of smells and textures for one of my favorite favors yet! I got my dried flower petals from this Etsy Shop, and I would recommend you look through all of them to find your own favorites too! They have so many options and they are so affordable, this project can be easily customized to your own favorite colors and flowers.
Bath salts like these look gorgeous, smell amazing, and are so easy to make! I made them for a birthday party, but they are perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, galentine’s gifts or just gifts for your best friends!
There is nothing like a hot bath to soak away the troubles of the day, and giving fun spa themed goodies for them as favors is surely one of my favorite things! When I was done making a new set of Mini Bath Bomb Trios for my friendcation in Florida, I still had plenty of bath bomb supplies left, so I chose to vary the charm and help one of my at home besties with some favors for her teen’s spa party, these Floral Fizzy Bath Salts!
These little beauties were beloved by their birthday girl, who helped me make them herself, and is a fun and easy favor project for anyone to try! The citric acid and baking soda give the fun fizzy quality to these salts, with the dried flowers being the perfect feminine floral accent to any bubble bath!
SUPPLIES
SUPPLIES LIST:
Citric Acid– ½ cup
Dried Flower Petals x 1 ¾ cups
Epsom Salts – 2 cups
Baking Soda – 1 cup
Cornstarch– ½ cup
Powdered Dye - 2 tsp.
Essential Oil – 1 Tbsp
Vegetable Oil – 1 Tbsp
DIRECTIONS
Combine all of your dry ingredients except the citric acid. Whisk with your Mika powder to combine. Combine your essential oils or fragrance oils to the oil base you choose in a separate bowl. In this case I chose vegetable oil but you can choose any kind of plant-based oils to carry the fragrance of the rest of your scents.
2. Mix your oils in with your dry ingredients, still omitting the citric acid, and whisk together in a bowl; or add both to a Ziploc gallon bag, sealing and shake to combine.
3. Let the mixture dry slightly in the bowl, then add your citric acid and dried flower petals. I mixed my petals and citric acid together separately, then added them to my original bowl; using ¼ cup sweet violets, ½ cup rose petals, and 1 cup of peony petals.
4. Hand toss the petals and citric acid until well combined in your mixture, then it's time to package in! While there are lots of packaging options, I loved these Heart Shaped Windowed Favor Tins, because this batch makes 24-30 tins depending on how much you fill them up! Using a small measuring cup or your hands, scoop the salts into each tin until almost full, then top with the lid and you’re done!
These adorable and amazing smelling bath salts were the perfect favor for this party and this recipe is so easy to customize to whatever scents, petals, and colors you want! Experiment with your favorite combinations to give your own special sets to your family and friends!
