Bubbly & Bouquets Flower Bar Brunch
As you read this post, you’ll notice a lot of bolded words, some that highlight pink and link to other posts and products, and others that don’t do anything. That’s because I am still writing and working on the posts those words go to! As these posts get published, I’ll be updating this post until all the projects are complete! Guess who's been getting into gardening this year? Yep it’s me! I’ve always adored cutting flowers for bouquets, so this year it was time to dig out a flower bed, plant some bulbs, and start a cutting garden of my own. While it’ll take a few years for my garden to help me build the bouquets of my dreams, it gave me the perfect opportunity to celebrate with a floral inspired Bubbly & Bouquets Flower Bar Brunch!
For years I’ve wanted to host a bouquet making brunch, and with the help of my affiliate partner, Etsy, I found everything from floral inspired cocktail syrups to the building blocks for my homemade bouquet bar; along with some eco-friendly details for a beautiful and unique event that I can keep hosting year after year! And perhaps if my gardening skills pan out, one day you’ll be seeing a brunch like this with the flowers from my own garden to grace for my guest’s take home bouquets.
GUEST ACTIVITIES & GIFTS
FLOWER BAR BOUQUET MAKING STATION
One of the perks of being Etsy’s affiliate of the month was that they sponsored a post featuring any of the products I chose from their shops, so it was the perfect opportunity to create an event detail that I’ve always wanted, a bouquet making bar! I love the idea of using them for a Mother’s Day brunch and as this event just happened to fall the day beforehand, it was the perfect time for my guests with in town mums to make them unique arrangements with their own creative flair!
With the plethora of different shops on Etsy’s marketplace, a few hours of searching got me just the setup I wanted! I started with a dapper Three Tiered Plant Stand as the base of my bar, courtesy of Succy Planters and their wide assortment of wooden plant stands and ceramic planters. While one day I hope that my own flower garden supplies the blooms for an annual bouquet bar, in the meantime I took advantage of my local shops to find my flowers and greenery, then housed them in Galvanized Buckets for my guests to pick which they wanted for their bouquets. To wrap their blooms in for safe travels home, I found this gorgeous Rose Gold Lined Bouquet Paper from KK Plant House, which hosts an assortment of different flower wrapping papers to complement a variety of styles! I completed the look by hanging this gorgeous botanical sign I printed at home with an easy to use Digital Sign Template I found from Willow Lane Paperie, and the result was a beautiful bouquet bar that I can use again and again, while also having a new plant stand for all the times in between!
DECORATIONS & DETAILS
Along with my bouquet bar, flowers found their way into all aspects of this event! Since this was a more simple brunch, I didn’t do a lot of table decor but instead worked floral notes into the plates and napkins instead! I first found the beautiful and eco-friendly biodegradable Bamboo Pastel Flower Plates from the shop, Party Connoisseur, and couldn’t resist accenting them with these Scalloped Butterfly Napkins, because what goes better with flowers than butterflies!
As I hadn’t yet taken down my Hanging Wisteria Fairy Light Flower Curtain from my birthday party a couple weeks previously, I ingeniously continued to keep it up as a backdrop for my brunch, bubbly, and all the floral cocktails!
FOOD & DRINKS
While I knew that Etsy was a place for all sorts of items, I didn’t realize that macarons were on that list! While compiling all my favorite shops and finding new ones for my post Etsy Shops for Unique and Affordable Favors, I found the shop Izzy Macarons that I just had to try, so I picked out a 24 Macaron Sampler Pack to test with all my guests. I received it a week before the event then stored them in their boxes in the freezer until the night before, with the exception of trying one or two the day of delivery! I transferred them to the fridge the night before the party, then took them out an hour before party time and they were delicious! They held up splendidly in the freezer and all my guests were so impressed with the variety of flavors that I’ll certainly be using them as favors in the future!
Along with these sweet treats, I also included some homemade baked goods for my guests to enjoy, featuring three kinds of croissants for the adults and mini butter croissants for the children. Floral cocktails along with classic and grapefruit mimosas were the libations of this boozy brunch, with the syrups and recipes coming from a new shop I found on Etsy, The Heirloom Gourmet!
While I generally create my own cocktails, when I found this Rose Syrup along with a simple Rose Margarita recipe, I started looking deeper into what this shop offers, and what I found was a variety of specialty syrups I can’t wait to sample! In addition, I grabbed some Lavender Syrup to create some Lavender Mojitos, and I just love the variety of syrups, preserves, and gourmet goods they offer, along with easy recipes anyone can follow for creative custom cocktails!
After sipping fancy floral cocktails, snacking on croissants, and building beautiful and unique bouquets for their loved ones, my guests headed out for their weekend adventures while I bedecked my home in the extra flowers and sampled leftover macarons, the perfect way to spend my Saturday after a wonderful spring morning with my friends and their families!
