Afloral Silk Flower Product Review

See this content in the original post

Spring has sprung, summer is on the way and flowers are the name of the game! I’ve been completing tutorials for my past parties, experimenting with fun new floral decoration ideas, and getting ideas for new projects to show you all; and for these projects there is a silk flower shop I love most, it has to be my floral affiliate partner, Afloral!

If you’ve been keeping up with our fun and festive silk flower projects over the last couple weeks, you have heard me mention Afloral as my favorite silk flower supplier. This online shop features a variety of both silk and dried flowers that I use for creating centerpieces, garlands, and flower crowns for my friends and parties! With an ever changing inventory of the most popular silk flowers, a large selection of unique wildflowers and all sorts of greenery and fillers to pick from, since I found this shop I always start my flower shopping here!

The best part about the flowers I’ve used so far has to be the quality! For a long time I was against silk flowers because I felt like they always looked cheap, but these flowers changed my mind about that! After my first order, I’m now a convert to this shop from the beautiful blooms I received! The other great thing I learned from my first round of floral projects is how many different ways I could use the flowers I ordered; I started with making garlands and vase centerpieces for my Goddess of Spring 30th Birthday, and ever since have been using the leftover flowers for new centerpieces and garlands for my upcoming parties as well as a meadow of flower crowns for myself and my friends!

One of my favorite things about Afloral is that, in addition to having beautiful high quality flowers, they also make sure all their products are ethical and sustainable! As silk flowers are not available domestically, they work with manufacturers that adhere to a strict code of ethical labor practices as well as partnering with vendors that use recycled fabrics, wire and plastics in their products. You can read more about their sustainability practices here.

Below, I go more in depth of the different kinds of flowers and greenery I have purchased so far and then you can see all the beautiful flower arrangements and accessories I’ve made for my parties! As I finish my wishlist and get new flowers for my upcoming projects, I’ll be adding them to the lists below so you can find the perfect flowers for your own centerpieces and silk flower beauties!

PEONIES & PEONY BUDS

The first flowers up have to be my favorite spring bloom, the peony! I’ve used these everywhere from taping them into garlands and flower crowns to making them fun and festive spring centerpieces! Their big fluffy blooms always look great, store easily, and are easy to work with, though I recommend using wire cutters to get through the thicker wired stems if you cut them for centerpieces! Afloral always has a beautiful selection of peonies and their buds to chose from, but the colors tend to change seasonally based on availability.

CHERRY BLOSSOM BRANCHES

I absolutely adore cherry blossom branches, first for making big tall centerpieces but maybe more for making flower crowns! Their sturdy, yet flexible and realistic looking branches are the perfect base for making flower crowns like I did for my Peony and Cherry Blossom Crown for my 30th birthday, and soon I’ll be trying my hand at making a big blossoming garland out of them! These branches are pretty heavily wired; I found that, like the peonies, a heavy duty set of wire cutters made it much easier to get through the branches while trimming them!

Afloral usually has a selection of white, creams, and pastel pink colors in the beautiful branches; and my own set have been beloved in many projects and will continue to appear again and again!

WILDFLOWERS, BERRIES & FILLER FLOWERS

The most unexpected selection of favorite flowers I found were actually not in the cherry blossoms and peonies, though they were the perfect base flowers to start with, but rather in the amazing selection of different unique filler flowers, wild flowers, and berry pods! I love to use filler flowers to add interesting texture to an arrangement and fill in open spaces, but even more so for unique pieces to add to flower crowns! I always save the bits and pieces of these cut up flowers for that purpose now, because while there is always a great selection, some of their more unique choices sell out fast and aren’t available again! I’ve been waiting for Queen Anne’s Lace and my dusty green berry pods to come back, but I can’t wait to go shopping through all their new filler flowers  and even more especially, their wild flowers!

I love their all the cute and colorful options they have for wildflowers and am ordering so many to use in making a whole new set of flower crowns for friends, because in addition to being delicate beautiful blooms, their realistic and bendy stems are perfect for weaving around other flowers in headpieces and accessories! I used an assortment of wild flowers with a beautiful orchid branch to create a Rainbow Wildflower Crown last year for my friend, and can’t wait to make more crowns with all the beautiful blooms Afloral offers!

EUCALYPTUS GREENERY & GARLANDS

I’m finishing my floral review with the finishing touch to many a centerpiece and the starting point for many a garland, greenery! Just like their flower selection, Afloral doesn’t disappoint here, always having several seasonal garlands to chose from but also plenty of stemmed greenery to use in more traditional vase centerpieces or flower crown fun!

I’ve used both their garlands of spiral eucalyptus and stems of seeded eucalyptus for creating centerpieces and tablescapes; and both of the types I purchased looked great and worked perfectly for my projects. The garlands were easy to decorate to my liking, stored easily for future parties, and the quality of both the flowers and the greenery will make it easy to use them again and again!

I can’t wait to purchase some new garlands this fall for some holiday themed table decorations, and in the meantime will be happily displaying all my current greenery garlands for my guests to enjoy!
