Thanksgiving Traditions
Each Holiday season is a special time of comfort and family. While the holidays are great for getting people together, what I think really makes them magical is the traditions we adhere year after year. For my family, that starts with Thanksgiving.
The morning of we would always wake up and eat a light breakfast while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. When Santa’s float came out, my parents would open a bottle of champagne to toast the Holidays. After this my sister, mother and I would watch the dog show that’s always on after the parade while we finished cooking for the big meal.
Our Meal was pretty much the standard turkey, potatoes, and pies. After dinner we always got to watch the first Christmas movie of the season, which almost always turned out to be Rudolph or White Christmas. This year is the first Thanksgiving in our new house, so I can’t wait to see what traditions we keep and what new ones we start.
Happy Holiday season!
